Corey will be competing in a new medal event for X Games 16, Real Street is the first contest of its kind. Twelve of the top individual pros in street skating have filmed 60-second video parts on street terrain for X Games. We'll drop two parts a week for the six weeks leading up to the X Games, beginning June 21. When the final two parts drop July 25, you'll have one week to vote for the fan favorite (the winner gets $2,500). Then, on Aug. 1, all 12 video parts will air on the final day of the X Games 16 telecast, and a panel of pros -- Pat Duffy, Ed Templeton, Jamie Thomas and Geoff Rowley -- will choose the winning part and award the skater $50,000 and an X Games gold medal. As I sit in front of my computer screen on a darkened damp day with a torn meniscus. I decided to start up a blog. I have been trying to create a website for www.coreyduffel.com for a few months now and am stuck and don’t know how to move further without paying someone to finish it for me. I want to keep my friends and fans updated, and i want to do that without having to use myspace and facebook only. I get so overwhelmed on those site and it becomes such a task—it is not even personal anymore. By having my own page on here i can talk about whatever i feel like and i can post everything i want. I don’t care for an update every ten minutes about how someone made pie, or that someone is using the toilet at Graceland and so on. It does not interest me...

We fired up the grill and served chili cheese hot dogs. Corey Duffel was flown in for the day. After the dogs were served, everyone cruised inside for a signing. Check the new Tour Zine online now. 
The tour started off in Auburn, at Boards N Motion. There were kids waiting in the store to meet the skaters and get some autographs. After everyone got their posters signed the team headed over to the Auburn Park. There was a big crowd there, and even 2 cop cars. As the team headed down the hill to the park, one of the cops came up behind Corey and said "Corey Duffel"....I thought we might have some trouble, but it turned out that the cop was a fan. The team skated for a few hours and we gave out some glasses and T's. The locals were pumped to have the team skate with them at their local park. Brian might have gotten a few good shots. Ghost was ripping. Corey was skating an impossibly high ledge on the far side, and Sid was hitting up a sketchy wall ride.
All in all a really good event that the kids in Auburn will be talking about for months.

Take us all back to your slam when you ruptured your spleen or whatever it was. What happened that day?
We ended up at Tum Yeto that day, and that spot is right across the street. I mentioned to my friend, Chris, I wanted to try a 180, so I went over there to check it out, and said I'll give it a go. Bart set up his stuff, my friend Tom set up his camera stuff, I gave it a few good shots, stuck a few, then on the last try a security guard came out. He asked me to leave, and I asked him for one more try. He didn't speak much English, but he told me I could get only one more. As I was walking backwards to get the speed I needed, he put his hands on my back and started pushing me towards the set. I told him, "I thought you said one more try?" He didn't say anything, and just kept pushing me towards the set. Before I could even think, I just said "Fuck it" and tried with the speed I could get from there. Realizing that wasn't the right speed, I freaked out, and ended up gutting myself on the railing.
